MaestroLive 1.61 Released !!!

MaestroLive 1.61 has some bug fixes and some user interface improvement – including the ability to change the Rhythm Radar time resolution. The lower the number the more detail you see but the faster the timer moves. Below is a full list of the changes to this new version.

Bug fixes:

- Fixed a bug that caused the sound volume of some songs to become mute after pressing “Play Again”.
- Fixed a bug that caused your login or password not to be registered when typing them in if you clicked on the Login button instead of hitting Enter.

Features:

- The “rounds” number in the Rhythm Radar is now bigger and it changes color according to the timer color.
- The resolution of the Rhythm Radar can now be changed. You define how long each bar in the Rhythm Radar is in milliseconds. The smaller the number the more bars so you get a higher resolution – but the timer also moves faster.
- The Score Overview “On Time” tolerance value can now be changed. This value is in milliseconds and it defines what is considered to be on time (green light). If for example the value is set to 80 then being early or late up to 80 milliseconds is considered “on Time” and will give a green light.
- “Hi-Score” has been changed to “Best Score” as technically it should have been lo-score…
- The World Record is now displayed below the Best Score so it is easy to see all relevant score information in one place while playing.
- You now get a warning that you will be un-able to save your score if the tempo is not set to the default tempo and “Play Again” is pressed. The score can only be save if all notes have been played in the original (default) tempo.

If you go to the MaestroLive home page you will see that the video shown now is picked randomly. One of the videos was actually contributed by Maestro ikun12. If anyone else wants their MaestroLive video on the home page just upload a video to YouTube and let me know (TheMaestro At MaestroLive.com).

A few days after launching MaestroLive 1.5 a single player (ikun12) started dominating the MaestroLive score board. His scores were so good that it seemed like no one else stood a chance of seeing their name on the score board.

For this reason we came up with the MaestroLive Black Belt title. Players with this title will get the respect of the community without having their name appearing on the score board.

The kind of comments we’re hoping for are comments relevent to the actual song in question (whether you like it or not, is it fun to play etc.). This is also an interesting way for players to interact

MaestroLive 1.5 Released Today

MaestroLive 1.5 was released today. This is a major upgrade to MaestroLive 1.0. The main emphasis on this new release is turning MaestroLive into a community – adding features such as comparing hi-scores with other players, posting comments for each song, making song request and the ability to see in “real time” which songs other MaestroLive players around the world are playing.

MaestroLive is a musical community game that lets anyone play songs by tapping the rhythm of the song on a computer keyboard or on an attached MIDI keyboard. MaestroLive gives you a score for your performance. When you finish playing a song you can save your score to the MaestroLive network and compare it with previous scores of that song or with other player’s scores. Each song has its on set of scores.

You don’t have to know how to play music to play with MaestroLive. Any key you press will play the next event (next note/s) – by tapping the “correct” rhythm you will be playing the song.

MaestroLive can also teach you how to play “for real” if you have a MIDI keyboard attached to your computer. MaestroLive will visually show you what notes need to be played next – if you don’t play the correct notes it wont move to the next event. By playing the notes you are playing the song “for real”.
